If you are going to be off longer than 5 days you may be required to provide a doctor’s note and you are obligated to communicate with HR/Co-CEO’s so we can plan for your extended absence and plan for your return. For leaves longer than 5 days it is appropriate to communicate an update 1-2x a week. HR/Co-CEO’s will reach out periodically to see how you are doing with the assumption that you are going to provide an update. Refusing to communicate while on a leave could lead to the assumption that you are abandoning your position and lead to follow-up, up to, and including dismissal.
